Wood stoves and inserts

Freestanding stoves and inserts, including the traditional lines this shop has carried for years. Sized for homes that heat with wood all winter.

A wood stove that is too large for the space gets run choked down all winter. That builds creosote, dirties the glass and gives you less usable heat, not more. Sizing to the house matters more than picking the biggest firebox on the floor.

What we need to know: square footage you are actually heating, ceiling height, insulation, how open the floor plan is, and whether the stove is your primary heat or a second source. Bring those numbers and we will work through it with you.

Questions

About wood stoves

What size wood stove does my house need?

It depends on square footage, ceiling height, insulation and how open the floor plan is. Homes that heat primarily with wood usually need more stove than a catalog chart suggests. Bring those numbers and we will size it with you.

Can you install into an existing masonry fireplace?

Often yes, with an insert and a liner. We will look at photos and measurements of the firebox and chimney to confirm what fits.
